A woman has been taken to hospital after being assaulted on a Dundee street.
The incident took place on South Road on Tuesday just before noon.
Police were called to the scene along with an ambulance and a paramedic response unit.
A woman was taken to Ninewells Hospital to be treated, however the severity of her injuries are not yet known.
A section of South Road near Kettledrum Bar was cordoned off for a period of time as police probed the assault.
A man who left the scene of the incident in a red Fiat 500 is being sought by police.
A police spokeswoman said: “Inquiries are on-going after a woman was assaulted in South Road, Dundee at lunchtime today.
“Taken to hospital for treatment. Following a positive line of inquiry and looking to trace a man who left the scene in a red Fiat 500.
“Call 101 quoting 1340 of 5 Feb if you can help.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 11.57am to attend an incident on South Street, Dundee.
“We dispatched an ambulance and paramedic response unit to the location and transferred a female patient to Ninewells Hospital.”
