Dundee was hit by traffic chaos during the Wednesday evening rush hour – with motorists reporting hour-long delays.
A broken-down HGV on East Dock Street caused gridlock in the city centre and led to major delays for commuters on the Tay Road Bridge after 5pm.

The northbound section of the crossing was badly affected.
Severe congestion also affected Riverside Drive and South Marketgait.
Restrictions were in place on the bridge until the lorry was moved on at about 6pm.
