Police are seeking a man following an assault on a Dundee street.
The individual is being sought after stopping another man on Langlands Street to speak to him before carrying out an attack.
The incident took place on Friday, August 23 at about 8.55pm.
The two men are not believed to have known each other.
Police are now seeking to trace the attacker, who is said to be about 30-years-old, 6ft 2in and of medium build. At the time of the assault he was wearing a dark top with red writing on it, a dark beanie and black trainers.
The man made off towards Albert Street after the incident.
Officers are also seeking two women who witnessed the attack.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information about an incident which happened in Langlands Street, Dundee, about 8.55pm on Friday, August 23.
“A man was approached by another man who was unknown to him and engaged in conversation before allegedly being assaulted. The perpetrator then made off towards Albert Street.
“We would also like to trace two potential witnesses who provided assistance to the victim immediately after the incident and may have seen part or all of it.
“These two ladies are described as one wearing a red top and using a powered wheelchair, and the other had short pink hair and was carrying a white and pink rucksack.
“If you have any information that could assist our investigation, and particularly if you are one of the potential witnesses we have mentioned above, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.
