A Fife man who punched his former partner in the street has been jailed.
Craig Russell, 26, formerly of Paxton Crescent, Lochgelly, now of Dallas Drive, Kirkcaldy, was sentenced at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He previously admitted that on February 26 at West Park, Lochgelly, he assaulted Carley Bonnar by punching her on the head.
Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said the offence was a “result of frustration about lack of access to his child”.
Sheriff Alastair Brown told Russell: “Assaulting people in the street is completely unacceptable.”
He jailed Russell for nine months and imposed a two-year non-harassment order.
