A Dunfermline woman was robbed of her bank card and then had £500 removed from her account.
Derek Bryce took the victim’s card, assaulted her and demanded that she tell him the PIN code, before helping himself to her money at a cash machine in August.
Bryce, 33, a prisoner at Perth, admitted the offences at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Defence solicitor James Moncrieff said that it was his client’s position that the woman owed him the money.
Sheriff Charles MacNair told Bryce it was a serious offence regardless and also said he had “a very bad record”.
Bryce was jailed for 17 months.
