Hundreds of homes and businesses in north-east Fife were left without electricity after overhead cables were damaged.
Power to 1,300 customers in the Newport-on-Tay area was affected on Tuesday morning.
Thermal material used for covering plants was blown into overhead lines and damaged them.
Electricity supply was returned to most households and premises in just over an hour but a few were without power for almost three hours.
SP Energy Networks said it was made aware of the supply loss shortly after 10.15am.
A spokeswoman said: “A team was immediately dispatched to complete the necessary repairs.
“Power was fully restored to almost all customers in just over an hour, with the remaining 16 restored within three hours.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding.”
Numerous postcodes in the KY14, KY15 and DD6 areas were affected, including those in Wormit and Balmerino.
