Schools in Kingskettle and Glenrothes confirm positive Covid-19 cases

A further two Fife schools have reported positive cases of Covid-19.

Kettle Primary School in Kingskettle, and South Parks Primary in Glenrothes, each have one confirmed case of the virus.

At Kettle, the primary 4/5 class has been asked to isolate up to and including October 12 and can resume normal activities from October 13.

At South Parks, the P5 class is having to isolate up to October 13, resuming activities from October 14.

The isolation period covers the start of the school holidays.

The announcement by NHS Fife brings the number of Fife schools affected by coronavirus to more than 20.

Meanwhile, three cases of Covid-19 were confirmed at Fife College on Friday evening, while the number of positive tests at St Andrews University now stands at 34.

NHS Fife said anyone who develops any of the established symptoms of the virus, such as a fever; or a loss or change in taste or smell; or a new and continuous cough, should arrange testing using the UK Government Citizens’ Portal at www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 0800 028 2816.
