Tributes have been paid to a much-loved Fife police officer following her death.

Constable Carol-Lyn Crawford died on Sunday, October 4 following a “brave” battle with an illness.

The Fife Police Division officer is said to have fought the condition for many years.

She is being laid to rest following a private ceremony at Dunfermline Crematorium at 1.15pm on Friday.

Mourners have been invited to line the driveway of the site in tribute to Carol-Lyn prior to the service.

Just days before her death she visited Fife Police Division’s Glenrothes HQ to say her final farewells to colleagues in the force.

Chief Superintendent Derek McEwan, Fife’s Divisional Commander, said: “Today Police Scotland and Fife Division bid a heartfelt fond farewell to our much respected Constable, colleague and friend, Carol Crawford, who died on Sunday, October 4 2020.

“Carol (Carol-Lyn) fought a brave battle with illness over a number of years and her loss will be felt by all of those who knew and worked with her.

“On Thursday, October 1, Carol, along with her parents David and Audrey, attended Police HQ in Glenrothes and met with myself and other officers to say her farewells.

“At that time the wishes of all officers and staff, retired and present, were passed to her and she was thanked for her outstanding contribution to policing.

“All of our thoughts are with Carol’s family and friends at this time. Carol will forever be remembered by the Police family and those who knew her.

“Rest in Peace Carol.”
