Fife’s Health and Social Care Partnership has published its full Strategic Plan for the years up to 2019.

The partnership, which is the third biggest in Scotland with more than 5,500 staff and a joint budget of more than £470 million, has outlined its vision for the transformation of services affecting children’s health and young adults right through to older people’s care.

Around 1,000 people and agencies responded to a three-month consultation on the subject to help shape the plan, which can now be viewed by members of the public.

Councillor Andrew Rodger, who is chair of the partnership’s integration joint board, said: “This is just the start of seeing a once in a generation transformation across health and social care.

“We will continue to work with patients, service users, carers, service partners and many others to build on what works now and how we can transform areas where people experience frustration due to duplication and complicated access to the services and care they need.

“By working smarter and in partnership, we can make best use of scarce resources and at the same time, drive up best practice.”

Sandy Riddell, health and social care director, added: “The voice of the people lies at the centre of positive change and I thank everyone who got involved in shaping the future of care in Fife.

“By working together we can continue to support those with the highest needs, whilst keep people living safe and independent lives for as long as possible.”

The Strategic Plan, which can be found at www.fifehealthandsocialcare.org, was approved by the Integration Joint Board in February but required small changes before publication.
