A Dunfermline family has been subjected to hate mail.
The family, who live in the Abbeyview area, were targeted on Wednesday April 27.
A letter containing racially offensive abuse was put though the door of their Lomond Crescent home at around 6.30pm.
Sergeant Neil McGurk, of Dunfermline Police Station, said: “We’re appealing for anyone who has any information about this.
“Someone might have noticed a person delivering the letter around that time, or perhaps have other relevant information.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
Shirley MacDonald, who is secretary of Abbeyview Community Council, said: “I’m shocked and saddened.
“I’ve got no time for bigots or racists and I would imagine the people of Abbeyview generally feel the same way.
“I have never heard of anything like that happening before and we’ve been here for 16 years.”
She added that anyone with concerns about hate crime could raise the issue at the next Police Scotland community engagement meeting.
