The family of Kirkcaldy man Sheku Bayoh are to hold more talks with Scotland’s top law officer on Monday.
Relatives, including Mr Bayoh’s partner Collette Bell, will discuss the investigation into the 31-year-old’s death in police custody with Lord Advocate Frank Mulholland.
The meeting is expected to last around an hour.
Miss Bell will be joined by Mr Bayoh’s mother Aminata, sisters Kadi Johnson, Adama Jalloh and Kosna Bayoh, brother-in-law Ade Johnson and family solicitor Aamer Anwar.
The family have asked for a progress report on the inquiry being conducted by the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) just over a year after Mr Bayoh died while being detained by police in Hayfield Road, Kirkcaldy.
The father-of-two is thought to have been a victim of positional asphyxiation as officers restrained him after responding to reports of a man brandishing a knife in the street.
A female police officer is said to have suffered serious head injuries during the incident in the early hours of Sunday May 3, 2015.
PIRC submitted an interim report into its investigation to the Lord Advocate last year and is said to be close to finalising the inquiry.
Mr Bayoh’s family will lay flowers at the site of his death on Sunday at 1.30pm before walking to Templehall Community Centre to celebrate his life.
