Motorists have been warned to prepare for delays on the Forth Road Bridge this weekend, as traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction overnight.
Repairs to the concrete deck slab, and work to waterproof and surface the northbound carriageway will take place on Saturday night from 7pm until 10:30am the following morning.
The extended overnight closure is required to provide enough time for the concrete to gain strength and the resurfacing and waterproofing materials to set.
A spokesman for the company behind the works said: “Some delays are still possible towards the end of the closure, so we recommend allowing some extra time for your journey.”
