A musical composition to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme was performed for the first time in Fife.
Memorial Ground, by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lang, was sung by Theatre of Voices, Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus and singers from Waid Academy, St Andrew’s Chorus and Anstruther Philharmonic Choir.
The performance conducted by Paul Hillier in Cambo Barn, near Kingsbarns, formed part of the East Neuk Festival.
The piece was commissioned by the festival in collaboration with 14-18 NOW, the UK’s official arts programme for the First World War centenary.
Singers are pictured in rehearsals.
