A dispute involving hundreds of workers on the UK’s flagship aircraft carriers has been resolved.
More than 300 workers at Babcock’s Rosyth Dockyard embarked on a wildcat strike last week after a contractor was allegedly banned from the site.
Unions intervened after electrical workers employed by Balfour Beatty and CBL walked off the £6 billion project and plans for a demonstration outside the yard were called off while negotiations got under way.
The Unite union warned that official industrial action would be considered if a resolution was not found.
But it has now been revealed that talks between the two parties were successful and work to complete the supercarriers is continuing as normal.
The HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales are the biggest Royal Navy ships ever built.
The crew of HMS Queen Elizabeth are due to board in December with sea trials scheduled for March.
