A Methil couple have been left “distressed and upset” after being robbed in their own home.

Police in Fife say they are appealing for witnesses after the house in Methil Brae was targeted at around 5pm on Sunday September 25.

A 30-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were inside the property at the time when two men forced entry and stole a four-figure sum of money from inside.

Both men then ran off and the victims contacted police.

Local officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their inquiries to come forward.

The first suspect is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall with a stocky build and wearing a black balaclava, black jacket and black trousers.

The second suspect is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall with a stocky build and wearing a black balaclava and a red Adidas top with white stripes on the sleeves.

Detective Sergeant Paula Warrender, from Levenmouth CID, said: “Neither victim was injured but both were left understandably distressed and upset as a result of this robbery.

“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in or around Methil Brae on Sunday evening is asked to contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone who recognises the suspects should also get in touch.”

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
