A disabled pensioner was assaulted in a road rage attack in Kincardine.

The 65-year-old man sustained minor injuries after being targeted by two motorcyclists who smashed his car window.

Detective Sergeant Kelly McEwan from Police Scotland said: “This was a senseless attack that caused considerable alarm to the victim and we are determined to trace the two men responsible.”

The victim was driving a grey Nissan Qashqai on the A985 towards Kincardine between 2:30pm and 3pm on Thursday September 22 when two men on motorbikes started threatening him.

Fearing for his safety, the man attempted to avoid the motorcyclists by pulling onto Toll Road.

However, the motorcyclists followed him and all three vehicles stopped a short time later close to Forth View in Kincardine.

The men assaulted the pensioner and smashed a window of his car before speeding off.

It is understood that several members of the public rushed to help the victim, who sustained minor injuries but did not require treatment.

DS McEwan said: “Today I’m appealing for the assistance of the public in an effort to find these men as quickly as possible.

“If you were travelling in the area on Thursday September 22 and saw the suspects or if you helped the victim moments after the attack please contact police immediately.”

One of the suspects was described as being 6ft 6in tall and of slim build. He was wearing black leathers and a helmet bearing a distinctive alien design with red flashes.

The second man was in his fifties and around 5ft 10in tall. He had a full beard with a grey moustache and wore small round dark glasses.

Witnesses are urged to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, where calls can be made anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
