An 82-year-old man reported missing on a visit to a relative has been found safe and well.

Joseph Scott left his home in Stonehaven at about 7am on Wednesday to visit a family member almost 100 miles away in Dunfermline.

He was driving a yellow Peugeot 107, which had been spotted in Kincardine and Glasgow, and was last seen about 5pm on Wednesday in Musselburgh, East Lothian.

Police Scotland said they were anxious to trace Mr Scott and confirmed he was found in the early hours of Thursday.
