Local residents were told to keep windows and door shut as firefighters deal with a huge fire in the Duloch area of Dunfermline.

Five engines were dispatched to the incident, which was reported just before 4pm on Thursday.

A huge plume of smoke could be seen from some distance away.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland, along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, are advising local people to keep their doors and windows closed following a fire a derelict farm in Linburn Road, Dunfermline.

“Police were alerted to the fire in a large barn at South Fod Farm on Linburn Road around 4pm on Thursday, February 16.

“Emergency services are currently in attendance and are the fire is still ongoing.

“Smoke is blowing east from the farm towards Kintail Place and Braemar Drive.

“Officers would urge members of the public to stay indoors with windows closed when possible.”
