The Forth Road Bridge was blocked following an accident involving an HGV and a car.
Traffic was stopped northbound as result of the accident at around 8.30am and there were delays for motorists travelling south from Fife.
The bridge reopened at 9.20am following recovery of the vehicles.

Disruption continued for some time, with northbound traffic back to the M90 spur and queues southbound on the M90 almost as far back as the Masterton junction.
Footage from a bridge CCTV camera showed the car resting on top of the bridge’s central reservation.
Just minutes after the smash occurred, the bridge’s Twitter feed reported that recovery was in progress.
An ambulance was on the scene but it is not yet known whether anyone was hurt.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed officers were in attendance at a road traffic collision on the Forth Road Bridge.
She said: “The incident happened around 8.30am on Friday, May 5, when a car collided with an HGV.
“The public is thanked for their patience at this time.”
