A man has been injured in a hit and run incident on the A92 in Fife.
He was driving a grey Citroen Xsara on the westbound carriageway when it was involved in a collision with a white car.
The white car left the scene, leaving the man trapped in his vehicle.
It happened near the turn off for Lochgelly at around 4.30am on Monday.
Fire crews attended and used hydraulic cutting gear to remove the roof of the Citroen.
The man was rescued from the vehicle and taken to an ambulance by stretcher.
He was rushed to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment.
It is understood his injuries are not life threatening.
The A92 was closed for around 90 minutes while emergency services worked at the scene.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision.
And police have appealed for the driver of the white vehicle to contact them.
Inspector Ian Flynn from Dunfermline Police Station said: “A man was injured in this collision and we would like to hear from anyone who saw it and who has information that can assist us with our investigation.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 0596 of May 29.”
