A huge new bridge across the River Forth has opened to motorists.
Crowds gathered along the roads north and south of the new 1.7-mile bridge from Tuesday evening.
A big throng of vehicles descended on the northbound carriageway of the crossing just moments after several slip roads were opened up.
Many honked their horns, screaming and waving in delight, as they made their way onto the impressive structure for the first time.
It's open! #QueensferryCrossing

Despite some confusion about the actual opening time – which was never officially confirmed – the crossing opened to northbound traffic just before 2am.
The Queen will officially open the bridge on September 4.
See you on Friday everyone – don't be a stranger! 😉
