When the new Queensferry Crossing opened to the public this morning, it was to smiles, screams of delight and the endless honking of car horns.
Following a wait of almost two hours, The Courier joined the throng of vehicles onto the northbound tarmac of the £1.35 billion structure just before 2am.
The journey was captured in this GoPro footage, despite being somewhat hampered by an intrusion on the lens.
Hundreds are expected to take to the crossing today.
The bridge took six years and 15,000 workers – the equivalent of 20 million man hours – to build.
