Police have sealed off a home in Dunfermline after an injured pensioner was discovered in a garden on Monday morning.
The 66-year-old woman is receiving hospital treatment after neighbours in Izatt Avenue raised the alarm at around 8am.
The circumstances surrounding the woman’s injuries remain unknown, however, a cordon remains in place outside the terraced property as investigators continue with their work.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance at a property on Izatt Avenue in Dunfermline after a woman was found injured in a garden just after 8am.

“She has been taken to hospital and inquiries are at an early stage.”
A solitary police officer was stationed outside of the terraced property on Monday morning as police continued their work at the back of the house, where the woman was discovered.
It is understood that next-door neighbours had spotted the woman in her garden in the early hours of the morning before calling the emergency services.
One neighbour said that police had been conducting door-to-door inquiries in the street, adding: I’ve never had any bother whilst living here – it is a very quiet street.
“The police asked if I had seen anything untoward but it is always quiet here.”
