Police in Fife have launched their annual campaign to keep communities safe during the festive period.
Officers will be on streets across the kingdom from Friday to give crime prevention advice.
This will include information on how to protect valuables when shopping or partying, online protection tips and information on safeguarding homes.
A special social media Christmas calendar has also been created and the public will be able to view a festive safety message every day until Christmas.
Launching the drive at Kirkcaldy Ice Arena, the home of Fife Flyers, Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Colin Gall, said: “Christmas is a wonderful and exciting time for communities across Fife and an extremely busy time for police and our other emergency service partners.
“We know that during this time, many members of the public will be out doing Christmas shopping, enjoying parties or travelling to spend time with friends and loved ones and it is important we are providing people with all the information they require to keep themselves safe.
“It is equally important that our communities play their part in helping us reduce crime over the holiday season by always considering their own personal safety and the security of their homes, outbuildings and vehicles.”
He also advised against excessive drinking as it plays such a key part in crimes of violence, disorder and domestic abuse.
“Remember, if you are found to be involved in any such offence, you will be arrested and may spend you Christmas behind bars,” he warned.
Town centre officers were at the Kingsgate Shopping Centre in Dunfermline on Wednesday providing members of the public with the chance to buy a purse bell and cable for just £1.
The bells are seen as a preventative measure and can help to alert members of the public to any attempt to steal a purse or handbag.
Community safety officers will be back in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre from 10am on Friday and will have a range of crime prevention items for sale.
