Police are appealing for drivers to submit dashcam footage following an armed robbery in Cowdenbeath.
Officers believe that drivers in the town could hold the key to identifying the culprit who raided the Gulf petrol station on the town’s High Street last Thursday.
The incident occurred shortly after 5am with the robber brandishing a knife at a staff member before making off with a three-figure sum of cash, along with a stash of cigarettes.
The criminal was then seen making off in the direction of Foulford Road, and investigators leading the hunt say that drivers in the area may have captured the perpetrator on in-car cameras.
Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan from Dunfermline CID said: “The public response to this incident has been really positive so far and we’re grateful to those who have so far gotten in touch to assist with our inquiries.
“We believe the suspect may have travelled in a dark coloured vehicle and what we are keen to get a hold of now, is dash-cam footage or any other video evidence, which may capture the suspect near to the garage or the suspect vehicle in and around the area.
“If you believe you have any footage of use to this investigation, or have any other relevant information then please contact us immediately.”
The male is described as being around 20-years-old with a slim build and wearing a balaclava covering his face and carrying a dark-coloured holdall.
