A man has appeared in court charged with the robbery of a Kirkcaldy petrol station.
Matthew O’Brien was also charged with assault when he appeared on petition at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday.
The 26-year-old, whose address was given only as Kirkcaldy, made no plea and was remanded in custody following his appearance in the dock.
He is scheduled to appear again later this month.
Mr O’Brien’s appearance follows a raid on the Shell garage on the town’s Hendry Road shortly after 1am on Sunday.
Police said that a three-figure sum had been taken in the robbery and that its investigation was continuing.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Cunningham said: “Our enquiries are continuing and we would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101 quoting reference 257 of 11/02 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
