Bomb disposal experts have been drafted in to deal with another grenade found in Fife allotments.
Gardens at Silverburn Park, near Leven, have been cordoned off as the Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team deal with the wartime device.
It is at least the third device found in the allotments in recent weeks.
Plot holders were told last month not to dig their patches until a specialist assessment of the land was conducted.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police in Fife were called to an allotment in Silverburn Park, Leven at around 12.30pm on Friday 13th July after a member of the public discovered what appears to be an old grenade.
“The area has been cordoned off as a precaution while the EOD work to dispose of the item safely.”
