A car left the road and landed in a construction site on the B9097 near Loch Leven on Sunday morning.
Pictures from the scene show the red vehicle lying on its roof near the entrance to a new underpass which is currently being built.
The tunnel is being constructed to help improve access to the loch from the RSPB Vane Farm and replaces an old underground passage which has steep steps.
The new project, which has been backed by cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy, will help those with mobility issues.
But the new pathway, which is not yet open, was left blocked by the crashed vehicle which was taped off by police.
