A rendition of a Christmas favourite by former Rangers and Raith Rovers legend Marvin Andrews has proved a hit on social media.

The defender turned preacher performed It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year for his thousands of followers on Twitter.

His two minutes 20 seconds-long take on the Andy Williams hit from 1963 has been viewed more than 21,000 times.

Fans have been delighted by his energetic performance and his smiling face in the homemade video.

His post also brought cheer to former Wrexham team mate Mark Creighton, who replied: “My fav big man. Great memories of belting this out with you in the dressing room.”

Trinidadian Andrews, 42, who played for his national team, joined Rovers in 1997 and played for Livingston before being signed by Rangers in 2004.

While at the Kirkcaldy side the devout Christian joined the town’s Zion Praise Centre and was ordained as a minister in 2006.

He is in high demand to conduct weddings and has been the minister at the marriages of former team mates Jason Scotland and Nacho Novo.

Andrews regular posts ‘Sing Song Friday’ videos on his Twitter feed but his latest has proved a particular barnstormer.
