An artist who runs her studio from the former first aid rooms at Ladybank Railway Station is exhibiting at the Society of Scottish Artists annual exhibition at the RSA Galleries, The Mound, Edinburgh.
Kirsty Lorenz’ work ‘Kitchen Garden Votives’ is an installation of nine paintings of posies made up of vegetable and herb flowers.
The paintings are all true to scale of the actual flowers.
Kirsty has been working on these paintings since the summer and says it’s “wonderful” to see them all up.
The flowers include courgette, onion, potato, pakchoi, artichoke, tomato, pea, corn, sunflower, mint, marjoram, sage, dill and fennel.
The piece is part of her ongoing project ‘Votive Offerings’, exploring the motif of the posy as a prayer or votive.”
Kirsty secured her studio at Ladybank under the Scotland-wide station community regeneration scheme, designed to benefit the community.
The exhibition runs at the RSA Galleries until January 17, 2019.
