A car fire caused traffic disruption on the A92 in Fife on Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to deal with the blaze at Glenrothes shortly after 6.30am.

The ablaze car was on the northbound carriageway between the Bankhead and Preston roundabouts.

One lane of the northbound dual carriageway was closed while two crews extinguished the flames.

There were no reports of any injuries but traffic was restricted in both directions and the incident caused tailbacks.

Stagecoach East Scotland said its 81A service which left Glenrothes for Dunfermline at 6.50am was behind schedule.

Traffic Scotland reported that congestion had cleared at around 8.15am.
