A man has been remanded in custody after police were called to an incident in Kirkcaldy on Sunday afternoon.
James Johnston appeared in private at the town’s sheriff court on Monday, the day after a stand-off involving emergency services in the Linktown area.
The 31-year-old made no plea to a petition alleging charges of assault to injury and threatening and abusive behaviour.
He was also accused of carrying an offensive weapon in a public place without a reasonable excuse.
The case was continued for further examination and Johnston is expected to make a second court appearance within the next week.
