Motorists are enduring a second day of delays on the M90 in Fife.

Queues stretching from Halbeath as far back as Kelty have been reported during a weekend of resurfacing works.

Traffic is restricted to a single lane in both directions between junctions 2a and 3 at Halbeath as works are conducted on the northbound carriageway by Amey.

Travel south towards Edinburgh is worst affected, with northbound traffic said to be flowing well.

Tailbacks are also affecting traffic on the A92 heading towards the M90 at Crossgates.

Drivers have reported delays of up 40 minutes.

Traffic Scotland said on Sunday it was taking 20 minutes to get through the congestion on the M90 and 15 minutes on the A92.

It advised those travelling on both routes to plan ahead and allow extra time.

Before the restrictions came into force on Saturday morning Police Scotland reminded motorists of the likely delays.

All lanes are to due reopen at midnight on Sunday.
