A public meeting to address concerns over the A85 road in Crieff is due to be held early this year.
It comes after hundreds of people signed a petition calling for increased safety measures to be implemented on the town’s High Street.

The public meeting is set to be hosted by Perth and Kinross Council, with Transport Scotland in attendance.
Former chairman of Crieff Community Council, Craig Finlay has been meeting with representatives from Transport Scotland in his efforts to increase road safety in the area.
He said: “Pedestrians find the A85 in Crieff’s high street very difficult to cross at sections without controlled crossings and the volume of traffic only increases.
“It is clear that additional crossings are needed.
“I am pleased Transport Scotland and Perth and Kinross Council are now taking the problems into account and I will feed back all the concerns to responsible parties when I meet them later this month.”
The council has confirmed proposals for the meeting are being taken forward, but are unsure of when it is to take place.
A spokesperson said: “Perth and Kinross Council environmental health officers attended a meeting in late 2019 with Crieff Succeeds and Transport Scotland regarding Crieff’s Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP).
“Arrangements are currently progressing for a proposed joint public meeting in the early part of this year.
“A date and venue for the public meeting will be confirmed in due course.
“The focus of the meeting will be on the improvement measures linked to the AQAP for Crieff and related matters, and we will be inviting local residents and businesses to give their views and comment on any potential proposals for the town centre area, following on from previous consultation activity.”
In a letter to Mr Finlay, Transport Scotland highlighted the need to identify ways of engaging with the public and work together in the most efficient ways to respond to future demands.
The letter stated: “The intention would be to allow the public to offer up a range of issues and for the officers in attendance to input where their organisations are in that regard and agree solutions.
“It is anticipated that goals would need to be set with short, medium and long term expectations.”
