The daughter of a missing Perth woman has made an emotional plea for her safe return home.

Police are also appealing for help to find Maryanne Dick, who was last seen in Pullar Terrace, Perth at around 10pm on Saturday night.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said enquiries are “still ongoing” into the 46-year-old’s disappearance.

Meanwhile a search for the missing mum is set to begin this evening.

Anyone able to help is urged to meet at the Tulloch Institute at 5.30pm.

Maryann’s family have taken to social media to ask the public to keep a look out for her.

Her daughter Emma posted on Twitter: “Can everyone please keep a look out for my Mum (Maryanne Dick).

“This is completely out of character and I just want her home safe.

“[She was] last seen in the Tulloch area of Perth around 10pm on Saturday 2nd February.

“Please contact the police with any information that you have.”

Emma also told The Courier her mother still has connections to Glasgow from where she originally came.

Her post has been retweeted more than 750 times, with replies sending the family best wishes.

Comments in response to Tayside Police’s Facebook appeal for information have been similarly supportive.

One comment read: “All taxi drivers in Perth have been asked to look out for her. Hope she’s safe and well and returns home soon.”

Another comment said: “Hope she’s back very soon where she belongs, with her family.”

In their statement, Police Scotland described Maryanne as being white, around 5ft 2, and of average build with long, black hair.

When last seen, she was wearing a black jacket, black jeans, a black jumper and a cream coloured scarf.

Sergeant Lesley McDonald, of the Perth police office would like to anyone who has seen Maryann since 10pm on Saturday, or anyone who is aware of her whereabouts to get in touch with officers.

She also appealed directly to Maryanne to call someone to “let us know that she is safe and well”.

Anyone with information relating to Maryanne’s whereabouts should contact police in Perth by phoning 101.

They can quote incident number 1701 of February 2.
