Measures put in place to limit the spread of coronavirus has claimed its first small business scalps.
With residents urged to practice social distancing for their own safety and swathes of town and city centre businesses instructed to close by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the effects of reduced footfall have already been felt by some Tayside businesses.
Blairgowrie firm Tweed and Trove announced last week that the enterprise would be wrapping up its trade and has no plans to reopen once the restrictions put in place to quash the virus are lifted.
The vintage clothing store located on the east Perthshire town’s usually busy High Street had been trading for half a decade.
A spokesperson for the company said: “It’s sad to be announcing the closure of the shop.
“It’s been such a delight meeting everyone and has been great fun over the last five years.
“But in just a few weeks, it’s term is up and now, driven by the very uncertain Covid-19 situation we’re all facing, I’ve had to be decisive and have resolved not to renew the lease.”
