Angry Perthshire residents were forced to contact the police after tourists continued to ignore government advice and travel to their village for the Easter weekend.
A large number of visitors, including a procession of motorbikes, descended on Comrie over the three days resulting in the community council contacting the authorities.
Gillian Brock, a Comrie community council member, received a number of calls from worried residents and shop workers concerned about the influx of visitors to the town.
Gillian said: “People are scared. There was a lot visitors in the village at the weekend.
“The queue at the local shop was up the street because there were a lot more people about.
“People who have lived here all their days were saying they didn’t recognise anyone and were phoning me asking what’s going on.
“There was a number of motorbikes going through the village.”
She said people should not be travelling to Comrie even if they have a second home or friends and family in the village.
She said: “People shouldn’t be inviting them and they shouldn’t be coming.
“They may think they’re going to the countryside so what harm can it be doing. But they are going to shops, they are going to petrol stations.
“The rules are quite clear, it’s only for a few weeks, just stay at home.
“It’s not that they’re not wanted but in this current climate they should stay away. We want to protect this wonderful village so we can welcome them back.
“You don’t know how you’re transmitting this. Over 10,000 people in this country have died from this thing you can’t see.”
Gillian said she felt like she had no choice but to call the police due to the number of phonecalls she had received from worried residents.
She said she was told by officers on Saturday evening they would have a police presence in the village the following day.
The influx of visitors to Comrie occurred despite repeated warnings from police, the government and politicians for people to stay at home and save lives this Easter.
Police Scotland were contacted for comment but did not respond.
