Perth Playhouse cinema has announced it will reopen its doors at the end of the month.

The cinema, which is owned by the G1 group, will welcome back movie-goers on Friday September 25 for the first time since the Covid-19 lockdown.

Picture houses have been allowed to reopen in Scotland since July 15 however G1 said they delayed the return of the Fair City omniplex due to “logistics” and waiting to see what films would be available for patrons.

As cinemas prepare for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet: What do Tayside and Fife’s movie theatres have planned?

Blockbuster sequel A Quiet Place 2 is expected to be one of the first films on show for crowds when the Murray Street building reopens.

A spokesperson for G1 said: “Missing the big screen experience? Trust us, we are too.

“We are therefore thrilled to announce we are working towards a re-opening of Friday 25th September.

“You can expect a whole host of fantastic films and cultural content on offer, including A Quiet Place Pt 2 and the special concert by Andrew Rieu which has been created exclusively for cinemas.”
