Traffic Scotland said the A9 was closed in both directions between Broxden and Inveralmond roundabout “due to a police incident”.
Traffic Scotland advised motorists to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “It is confirmed there is a person [at the scene], and officers are in attendance.”
Police had put diversions in place.
