Police Scotland Youth Volunteers (PSYV) are seeking new members as they launch their latest group in Perth.
Parents and youths alike will be given the opportunity to find out more about the initiative this weekend in Perth City Centre.
Police staff will be available to chat about the group within the High Street and St. Johns Shopping centre between 10am and 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
They promote a practical way for young people to understand policing by supporting the Police in their local area through volunteering.
As part of this, young people are given a chance for their voice to be heard and encouraged to promote good citizenship.
The programme is open to all young people aged between 13–16, which allows those people to get an insight into policing in Scotland and inspire individuals to participate positively within their communities.
Each PSYV group is coordinated by a Police Officer. The coordinator is supported by a team of Adult Volunteers who come from all walks of life.
PSYV have volunteered at some major events across Scotland, including The Open championship, T in The Park, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and local charity runs.
Applications can be obtained by emailing the group coordinator PC Scott Robertson at email@example.com.
