Roadworks on the M90 costing almost £400,000 that will see sections of the Friarton Bridge resurfaced are set to begin tonight.
The majority of the maintenance and improvements, which will also include sections of the Craigend Interchange, will take place at night in an attempt to minimise disruption for motorists.
From today overnight work will begin at Craigend Interchange for four nights from 7.30pm until 6.30am.
Some slip closures with short diversions will be in place to allow the maintenance of the slip roads.
On Thursday June 16 work moves onto the Friarton Bridge with resurfacing taking place at the weekend.
The bridge will be open throughout the whole programme, with one lane available in each direction from 7.30pm on Friday June 17 untill Monday at 6.30am.
The Junction 11 off-slip into Perth will be closed with traffic diverted via the Kinfauns Interchange.
On Monday June 20 there will be final maintenance works on Friarton Bridge with one lane running in each direction.
BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative Andy Thompson said: “This work is part of our commitment to make sure that the North East network continues to be of the highest standard, and will help improve safety on this stretch of the route.
“We’ve scheduled these works to take place overnight where possible and in off-peak hours in order to minimise inconvenience to motorists. Every effort will be made to minimise the duration of the slip-road closures each night so we don’t expect major delays.”
