A Dutch television crew visiting Perthshire enjoyed all the traditional elements of a highland games — caber tossing, dancing and rain.

Despite the weather Kenmore Highland Games was a resounding success and will feature prominently in a travel show on national television in Holland.

The presenters of the programme, two brothers who have been filming around Britain, were full of praise for the games after trying their hand at various events.

“One of them told me ‘I love this, I am going home to practice and come back next year’,” said games secretary Sarah Kelly.

“The games went really well, it was one of the best we have had.

“There were a huge amount of people, 1,100 visitors aside from the competitors.

“It was raining and there were midges but it didn’t put people off.

“It really was fantastic that such a tiny village as Kenmore could put on an event of this size.”
