The father of a teenager who died at T in the Park has launched a petition calling for tougher age restrictions at music festivals.
Megan Bell collapsed in the Slam tent on the first night of the Strathallan Castle show. She died in a temporary hospital just after 2am on July 8.
Her dad Chris, 44, said at the weekend his family had been “left in the dark” over her death and is demanding a full inquiry.
Now he has set up an online petition at influential site change.org, asking for the age limit to be raised at music festivals to 21.
He wrote: “My beautiful daughter Megan was 17 when she attended a music festival with friends.
“She never came home after falling ill.”
The father-of-four, from Seaham in County Durham, added: “The stories that we heard since mainly include youths taking drugs and drinking heavily.
“I strongly believe that an adult would not experiment or adhere to peer pressure like a child would.
“Children as young as 14-15 are attending these events unsupervised. Parents are not aware of what they are up to… Please help me in changing all of this.”
Mr Bell had earlier pledged to “fight tooth and nail” to ensure extra measures are taken to crack down on drugs at next year’s T in the Park festival.
He said drugs were not part of Megan’s life and believes her drink may have been spiked.
