The funeral of a toddler killed in a car accident in Coupar Angus will take place on Tuesday.

Two-year-old Harlow Edwards died on October 13 following a crash on the town’s Forfar Road.

The tot’s 17-year-old sister Dionne and six-year-old brother Leon were seriously injured in the incident.

The toddler will be laid to rest following a service at St Columba’s RC Church in Dundee on Tuesday morning. She will then be interred at Birkhill Cemetery.

Mourners are being asked to wear bright colours or “a touch of pink” to celebrate Harlow’s life.

Calling the toddler “our little ray of sunshine”, the family said that the bright theme was chosen “in honour of our beautiful baby girl and all that she was.”

The Coupar Angus community has rallied round the Edwards family following the tragedy.

A JustGiving page set up to support the family has more than doubled it’s £4,000 target.

Organiser Nadia Rice said: “So thankful for all support for the family. This should help a lot – we have doubled the target as we reached the original within two hours.

“It’s really overwhelming, the generosity of everyone, huge thanks to you all.”

The findings of a police investigation into the cause of the accident, which took place on Forfar Road in Coupar Angus have been passed to the Crown Office.

The procurator fiscal must now decide whether charges will be brought in the case.

It is understood the three siblings were walking home when a car that had been involved in a collision careered into them with devastating consequences.

The car mounted the pavement to strike them.

A former member of Coupar Angus Community Council said safety concerns had been raised about the road as far back as 2007.
