Pop superstar Justin Bieber, whose arrival in Kinross sparked a fan frenzy, has confirmed he is not a robot.

The music idol posted a heartfelt message on social media hours after getting away from the crowds with a fishing expedition on Loch Leven.

The 22-year-old, who is staying at Kinross House during a series of sell-out shows in Glasgow, went out in a small boat on Saturday morning.

Bieber had been told about the history of the area and was said to be keen to visit Loch Leven island, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned.

He was forced to cancel a boating trip on Friday because of bad weather.

The star made headlines when he appeared on the steps of Kinross House in just his pants.

The brief encounter was said to be a show of gratitude to fans waiting at the gate, who sent him a gift of Irn Bru.

Following his latest gig at Glasgow’s Hydro, Bieber posted a message on Twitter in response to reports that he had walked off stage in Manchester because his fans wouldn’t stop screaming.

He wrote: “There’s going to be times where I say the wrong thing, because I’m human. But I don’t pretend to be perfect and I hope to God that, you know, I don’t say the right thing all the time because if that was the case, then I’d be a robot and I’m just, I’m not a robot.”

He added: “There’s times when I get upset… times when I get angry, there’s times when I’m going to be frustrated. But I’m always going to be myself on stage.”

Bieber stressed he was not angry at his fans. “All I was simply doing was wanting people to listen; to hear me out a little bit.”

He said his Glasgow fans were “truly amazing”.

Bieber has spent thousands of pounds to stay at secluded Kinross House. He was spotted driving around the 100-acre estate in a golf buggy before appearing in his underwear late on Friday afternoon.

On Saturday morning, the Canadian singer wrapped up in a hat and camouflage jacket for his trip out on the loch.

He was joined by a security guard, while a protection team patrolled nearby.

Local butcher Hunters of Kinross tweeted a snap of Bieber on the boat.

Ian Hunter, also known as the singing butcher, said: “My wife and my son had heard he was out on the loch, so they went down to see him coming back to shore.

“They said he seemed fairly down to earth. My son said to him, how’s it going? And he said the same back.”

Bieber had reportedly thrown a Halloween party for friends at the £4.25 million estate and had kitted out the house with spooky props.
