Commuters face another fortnight of delays and disruption as two further phases of carriageway improvements are carried out on the M90 in Kinross-shire.
A contraflow system will be in place for the duration of the works, which begin this week between the Gairneybridge and Kinross junctions.
BEAR Scotland believes the £600,000 maintenance, which follows £1 summer repairs on a separate stretch of the M90, will improve both the road surface and road safety.
Preliminary works will be carried out overnight on Wednesday before the improvements begin in earnest on Thursday.
Traffic management will be in place throughout for the safety of the workforce and motorists and delays are likely.
A contraflow system on the M90 will be in operation continuously for two weeks, while the Junction 5 northbound on-slip will also be closed.
A signed diversion will be in place, directing drivers via the M90 southbound to Junction 4 and then onto M90 northbound.
BEAR Scotland’s Andy Thompson said: “This £600,000 investment from Transport Scotland will allow us to carry out maintenance works and ensure our network continues to operate at the highest standard.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible and we thank motorists for their patience in advance.
