Staff at Loch of the Lowes are celebrating after the resident male osprey “Laddie” returned for the annual breeding season.
The osprey, which is officially called LM12, is believed to have returned to the Scottish Wildlife trust-managed site earlier on Friday.
Staff are watching the bird on a live webcam.
A source at the site said: “The male osprey has returned to Loch of the Lowes.
“It’s on the nest. We think it’s LM12 but we are just waiting on a ranger coming to the reserve to confirm.”
