Man trapped three women in bathroom while he brandished knives through a hole in the door

Perth Sheriff Court.

A man who terrorised his ex-girlfriend and two other women in a Shining-style rampage at a Perth property has been jailed.

Stephen Green chased the women into a bathroom as he wielded two knives.

He proceeded to punch and stab at the door, creating a hole through which he brandished the weapons.

The women cowered in a shower cubicle while the 24-year-old entered to room and started to smash the glass.

Green, a prisoner at Perth, was convicted of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards his former partner by shouting, swearing and making threats of violence, demanding the password to her mobile phone and acting aggressively in Perth on November 27.

He was found guilty of possessing knives on Strathtay Road in Perth on December 18.

He was further convicted of acting in a threatening and abusive manner at a nearby address by gaining entry while in possession of the knives, threatening violence, forcing his way into a locked bathroom where the women were hiding, kicking, punching and stabbing the door to cause holes, brandishing the knife through the holes, entering the bathroom with the knives and smashing the shower door on the same date.

He assaulted his ex-girlfriend by brandishing a knife, and breached bail by contacting her on the same date.

Jailing him for 28 months, Sheriff William Wood said: “This was a terrifying incident involving a knife wielding mad man chasing them through this house and cramming them into the bathroom shower which you then proceeded to smash.”

Green will also be subject to a 12 month supervised release order when he leaves prison.
