A car on its side on an approach to the Broxden roundabout in Perth caused rush hour traffic delays.

The accident occurred at 4.19pm on the northbound approach to the roundabout.

One man sustained a minor head injury in the accident and was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary.

The blue car, which was believed to have skidded and left the road, showed extensive damage including a smashed windscreen. No other vehicles were involved.

It led to one lane being blocked with emergency services vehicles.

The road was fully open again around an hour later though traffic was still moving slowly.

Traffic Scotland warned that delays could last up to 45 minutes.

A police spokesman said: “The car skidded off the road and struck a pole.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesman added: “It was a one vehicle road traffic accident. There were no people trapped in the car.
