Manhunt after “serious” assault in Rattray

Police were seen with a metal detector in the area of the incident

A man has been taken to hospital following a “serious” assault in Rattray.

The 53-year-old was attacked on common ground near to Rattray Primary School at around 11pm on Saturday night.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said they were now hunting for the attacker.

Local people said they believed the incident had been a stabbing involving a knife and police were seen using a metal detector to search the area.
